Have you read these books?

Some time ago, I decided to unplug from social media and take time out with God and myself, during this time I read a number of books of which I want to share sneak peeks into 4 for you. These books centre around the things my life is about – Creativity, Christ, Communication, and Creation (Lol, I couldn’t find a ‘C’ word for Family).

Let’s dive into it.

1. SHOW YOUR WORK BY AUSTIN KLEON:10 Ways to Share Your Creativity and Get Discovered

This very illustrative book shares how a creative builds a community as well as how the creative work is shared with the community. It also offers ways to steal creative ideas from other ‘big boys’ in the creative industry in ten points.

Quick Striking post from the book includes:

“Forget about being an expert or a professional, and wear your amateurism (your heart, your love) on your sleeve. Share what you love, and the people who love the same things will find you.”

As much as this is like one of the most popular quotes from this book, I still love it! Understanding that all professionals started out as amateurs is a boost to make you not be shy of your humble start. Be proud of your innocence now and share it, that way you can track your own growth.

“The best way to get started on the path to sharing your work is to think about what you want to learn, and make a commitment to learning in front of others.”

Learn right in front of people. Use you amateurism as an excuse to explore. Ask questions, request feedbacks and let the people see how you grow from larva to butterfly.

Now, knowing what to share and what not to share is another matter.

Read this book and I assure you it will be worth your time.

This one book that challenges the status quo of the Christian. It practically says that as Christians we should always bring heaven to bear on things on earth.

We have all the power of heaven behind us. But it is our faith that connects what is available to the circumstances at hand. Faith takes what is available and makes it actual.

You want your faith and desire for the miraculous to get a push, this book will do that for you.

Another book with illustrations scattered across its pages. This book offers practical activities to try out that can help improve your communication, like where your hand should be when you are not holding anything, how to win someone over to your side without resorting to hate speeches or making a mess of the situation.

Being real, knowing your audience are there to actually listen to you as well as proper preparation are highlights from this book.

and finally,

4. Point Man: How a Man Can Lead His Family by Steve Farrar

This is a book every guy serious about leading his family right should read. With the seeming collapse of various homes and marriages that are wrecked under the attack of divorce, abuse and such, this bestselling classic encourages and equips Christian men to lead their families successfully.

Its a pretty long read, but be sure that it would be worth every page. Sharing from personal examples, Steve exposed the guys to how to navigate this world of leading the family against the storms and darts that the devil will throw. A man has got to be the point man for his family and he has to make his family his priority. It even offers how to have a sex education talk with your child.

Read up this four book and thank me later. I am gunning for another four already, watch out for those.

I got the first book from Temitope Dada, and the second from Folajimi Ade-davis and I think the point man was from Mrs DOLAPO Akomolafe, and the communication one came from my beautiful one, Modupe Fadipe.

Thank you guys.

Have you read any book that corresponds with these ones, please share title and author.

Thank you.
