Are You a Fake Friend or a Faithful Friend?

I shared an exposé on Psalms 12:1 on the Voice Of Worth Whatsapp platform, and I thought of sharing here.

I do hope you can pick a couple of things.

Psalm 12:1
Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.

Psalms 12:2
They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.

These were David’s words over thousand of years ago, yet they resound even in this generation.

Quick, God, I need your helping hand! The last decent person just went down, All the friends I depended on gone. Everyone talks in lie language; Lies slide off their oily lips. They doubletalk with forked tongues. (MSG)

People are increasingly undependable. People that you probably were available for can’t be there for you (not like that’s the criteria for you to be ther for them)

People are getting more self-involved that they think more of themselves than others.

You can count the number of people you can truly depend on one hand.

Everyone wants to collect, no one wants to give. To your face they flatter you, behind you, they speak and spread lies about you.

Before you begin to list out names of people you know, look inward first, do you belong to any of this category?

Are you a part of the problem? If you are, time to change has come.

If not. Verse 3 is for you

Psalms 12:3
The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things:

We need more selfless and faithful friends and families.

We need more people who are not just wrapped up in what they want people to do for them but people who want to go all out to put a smile on the faces and hearts of others even when theirs is pained.

We need friends and families who are ready to stick with us through the thick and thin.

Are you like that?

Are you the kind of friend or family that is real? Do you lend your support no matter what happens?
If not, you need to become.
Let the Holy Spirit teach you.

Before you seek for people to be real with you, cultivate it within first, learn the heart and art of being faithful to people.

Selah.
